It may have been something to do with pregnancy hormones. Last year I decided to read the book. It was hard to read but it was really an entertaining and thought provoking read. So I promptly read A thousand Splendid Suns. It made me think more about being a mother and the kind of person I have become with the opportunities I have had...how much we are molded by our upbringing and environment. I am not sure if I would have accepted my role as the submissive sex or would I have fought against it?
