A lot happening around here.

First of all, my very humble apologies for not doing the last two parts of the Q&A session. I was so discouraged after spending hours compiling the second one, and losing it, that I am slow completing it again.

There is quite a bit going on in our little corner of the world.

Our TV remote is lost! No really - going on a week now. Our nanny saw it the morning and an hour later - gonners! It was just her and The Boys at home, so you can guess who has hidden it very nicely. Gosh, I have searched high and low. I have promised a bottle of Jack Daniels for the finder. ;-)

Bookclub was really great of Tuesday night. It is so nice to get out of the house, alone, one night a month and spend it with the girls. And to boot, you have great books to read. 4 Of the 12 girls are pregnant! The Little Miss rewarded her dad's kind dead of looking after the kids for the night by being extra difficult. My hubby is a saint, really. No complaints from him.

The dear hubby (shall we call him Hunter) is really going for sainthood this weekend though. The little Miss and I will be leaving tomorrow late morning to attend a family gathering in Komatipoort - that is right on the border of Mozambique and the Kruger National Park and about 450 km (280 miles) from Pretoria. We will be celebrating my aunt's 80the birthday and I am really looking forward to it. Or I should be, but am at the moment finding it hard to get excited. It will also be the first time that I am away from The Boys ever. I just really hope that they make the weekend as easy as possible for daddy. He needs to study in amongst all this. Why is it that we as moms feel guilty to leave our kids with their fathers when we do not mind when the dads take a break? I will feel so terrible if the weekend is tough for him. At the same time I am so grateful for the break and being able to spend some one on one time with my little girl. Although both The Boys are much easier babies and toddlers than their sister ever was, they are still demanding on time.

I am feeling much better today, but my little Bear (C) is coughing again. Our little Monkey (L) had a huge meltdown last night - woke up when the telephone rang at about 8:30 and we only got him to calm down completely by 10:00 after both of us soothed him in turns. I sincerely hope this does not turn into a regular occasion and not over this weekend. And that he is not sick, again.

The Little Miss has developed a major problem with her swimming lessons. She is refusing to go! It is creating huge tension between Hunter and I as he blames the ballet for the drama at the swimming. I blame the swimming school who I really think did not do their part in the teaching department. It is a long drama, but let's suffice with this. I really want her to swim - it is essential in a hot country like ours with a myriad of pools. I think if we move her to another swimming school we might have more luck. But maybe she can do with the short break.

Well, I'll try and blog from there, no guarantees though. And I have not yet reported on last weekend, but who knows, maybe I'll get a chance later today.

  5. OMG, I would be so lost without the remote. Graham is very keen on remotes, so this will probably happen to us numerous times!

Have fun this weekend, and don't feel guilty!!!!

  7. We've had a problem with our Lil J waking up the past few nights. An hour or two after going to sleep she is up screaming and very difficult to console. Once we calm her down she wants to watch TV. We had to put our foot down last night and let her cry it out for a bit-very painful to listen to! I hope everything settles for all of you and the kids stay on the mend!

  8. Yaya hid my parents remote when we lived with them last year. WE TORE THAT PLACE APART countless times! It turned up the 100th time we lifted the couch. Hmmmmm! Love the pics of the kids from Christmas. Don't worry if she doesn't want to swim. She'll change her mind again before you know it. Enjoy your time away and know the boys are in good hands! My heart hurts for you as I remember my first time away from Yaya felt like my heart was missing.

  10. Visiting from sits! I can relate on how hard it would be to be away from the babies- I haven't really done it but I don't even like to think about it... I think I'd miss them more than they missed me:)

  11. I'm always amazed that you find as much time to blog as you do!

Little R managed to lose a block from a sorting toy when he was C&L's age. It's in the house somewhere, but please don't ask me where. I had thought it would just turn up again (sometime) as these things do, but it's been almost 2 years....
