It's ballet mom again.

Twice a year I take on another role - that of ballet mom. Once a year with the annual concert and the other at exam time. This year, as Murphy would have it, the exam was slap bang at exactly the same time as the mall I showed you yesterday was about to open. But my kind staff covered for me so that I could be there for the Princess' big morning. Taking into account that she was so sick yesterday morning that I had her at the doctor (UTI but she was nauseous and very sick) she looked stellar this morning. Apparently it went well according to the girls, and all they actually talked about was the examiner's  "funny" (British) accent.

The ballet takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the girls (and the parents) but mostly from their very brilliant teachers.

By popular request, the mall today. Yes, functioning but not 100% there. Miracles do happen

  1. Ballet dancers with their teachers are very disciplined. I see it with my little one.
I'm glad that you can be so proud of her. We can see it in your post :) Congrats mom

  2. I always love thinking about the discipline of Miss A in ballet...such a great learning opportunity, and you can really tell she loves it, too.

So glad the mall is up and running! Whew! ;)

  3. I actually almost didn't recognize your princess in her ballet get up. I like that they say a little prayer before they go on stage.

Glad to see the mall opening went well. Btw any specific reasons malls seem to open on thursdays?

  6. Wow! Ballet seems to intense at even such a young age there. Sarah's in her first year and its been pretty casual so far at our studio. Wondering what's in store for us in the future!?

Glad all went well! She looks lovely! So glad you were able to get away from work to be there with her and help.

  7. I did modern dancing and ballet as a child and loved it. You make friends, get lots of physical activity and there is an element of discipline and dedication which is gret. If I am ever a girl mom I will certainly encourage it.

  8. I'm so glad you managed to be there for her big day. It's clear from her shining little face that she loves ballet, and I'm sure it meant a lot to her that you could be there.

The mall looks good too - wow quite a turnaround in one day hey? ;-)

  11. I always wanted B to be a little ballerina. In her first year she was a little mouse in The flute player of Hamelin. She was so sick and tired of all the practice that she refused to do ballet ever again. Your little ballet dancer is gorgeous...enjoy her.
