Looking back, we had a fabolous weekend.

It was the last weekend of granny's visit and we made sure it was one to remember. The highlight being the Boys' school's annual sports day. A day that is filled to the brim with enthusiasm, energy and heaps of fun. All the parents and grandparents are encouraged to support the team their kids are in and in general the atmoshpere is loaded with fun with red, blue and yellow seen everywhere. It was great to have our granny from Port Elizabeth here to share in the fun. The Princess was delighted to be asked to participate as one of the grade R girls called in sick for the day.
Even enthusiastic Oumas get war paint
The Princess was delighted to meet up with old friend K who also joined in although she is in big school too this year.
The two Oumas on the side lines
The in dad's shoes race was huge fun and all 3 did their best.

I only caught the Princess in the bean bag race

The boys needed some help with the bunny hop race
Some more than others

The obstacle race was the big surprise this year - where L last year had to be coached through it all, he did it all on his own this year! At great speed.

And guess who won the wheelbarrow race for the red team?
Daddy and the Princess ran the 3 legged race (so fast her feet did not even hit the ground!)

Oh and I love this twin moment
Love the light in this shot

A great fun day with their little friends.
Do your kids' school have a fun sports day? I just love this little tradition.

  5. What a great last weekend for grandma to spend with you all.
Yes, our kids also have days like these but they are usually on a day in the week. The way I prefer it though.
