I had a glorious long weekend, so much so that I sort of feel a bit lost today at work and believe me, I can not afford it at the moment with all the work I have. But Hunter and I had a lovely
date day on Thursday and Friday I was stay at home mom with and extra kid(a friend of A) - great to spend so much time with the kids but a bit sad to say that at times the day was tough. I did make chicken soup which came out divine and will also post you the recipe later. On Saturday Hunter had a work commitment and I took the kids to my mom (post to follow) - the weather was ok so we had fun outdoors and on Saturday night had friends over for rugby and a braai. I baked a honey cake which was also came out really great. Sunday was icy cold and we spent the day as a family - we went for a swim at the gym to counter the cabin fever and had a great afternoon nap all round.
So what was your weekend like?

I got served a perfect cup of mud coffee on Friday. |
Ooooh! Mud coffee - never heard of that! I'm guessing it has lots of chocolate - looks pretty good! Love your new tradition of swimming on an icy day! :) Sure hope the water was extra warm! Wasn't it freezing on Sunday? I just couldn't get warm!
ReplyDeleteLOL Janet-it is literally mud. Wish it had chocolate in it though
DeleteYour little princess is so creative. But it looks like you had a packed long weekend. After church on Sunday we spent the day hurdled in front of the heater catching up on TV. It was a very coooooold day
ReplyDeleteI love the mud coffee. Looks like you guys are having a great week!
ReplyDeleteLike Janet, I thought your mud beverage looked DELICIOUS! :)
ReplyDeletePipe cleaner gymnast....you have such fun in your house! Love these glimpses in! :)
Looks like a great weekend! I am still struggling to get back in the groove... :D
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely pics. Nothing like an uber-lazy (but fun) weekend to recharge you spirit.
ReplyDeleteThat Mud coffee looks divine (and I don't even like coffee!)
Love the pic of the mud coffee! Sounds like you had a great weekend, I have to be honest and say I didn't do much at all, though I did spring clean Gems room and the kitchen cupboard. I have a few more to go though before Spring Day!
ReplyDeleteHere at our coffee shop they make a double latte concoction with two extras (chilli, chocolate, toffee, cinnamon, etc). I have the one with chocolate and toffee and it looks almost like that mud coffee and is DELICIOUS. It's dessert not a drink, of course :)
ReplyDeleteLove the pic of you in the snow - you look sooooooo happy!
That sounds fantastic
ReplyDeleteHave no idea what mud coffee is...but damn it looks good
ReplyDeleteI think I need to clear thi smud coffee thing for once and all - it is literally mud "coffee" - the Princess made me mud in a cup for pretend coffee. Any one for a cup?
DeleteHahaha! At first I thought that mud coffee was some sort of messy chocolate creation but then I realised that it is in fact mud. I hope you didn't HAVE to drink that? ;-)
ReplyDeleteAs a child I once made my dad eat two proper mud pies!
I love the photo of you with the falling snowflakes. I miss you...would have loved to catch up over coffee;-)...not the mud one please;-)
