Although he never smiled he did give his new teacher a huge hug when we left and there were never any tears. He also stayed in the class without me willingly and happily. I am very proud of how he handled it all -he does have heaps of courage and quite a bit of self confidence to boost the mix.

I love the pics but most of all, I love that you're more at ease!
ReplyDeleteI can totally understand why you feel more at ease. Knowing the teacher also understanding the condition of your son and her child also diagnosed with it.
ReplyDeleteI think it's wonderful how your son have stayed in the class without you. That's a good sign :)
It sounds promising!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds great and the teacher sounds like an angel. Lovely photos of L.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful that he is in with a teacher who gets it.
ReplyDeleteMy friend, it sounds like he is EXACTLY where he needs to be. I am so glad that you feel more at ease. Such a brave little boy.

Am sure as the year progresses you will see how this is the right thing for him. It sounds like he has an awesome teacher, who is aware of the challenges he faces, so that is a bonus for you all. Take it day by day my friend xx
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're feeling more at ease! Mr L looked as though he loved the play dough activity! A teacher who cares and whose honest is a godsend. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that the new teacher obviously has some experience with potential issues - and I think that if you keep communicating with her she'll be in a good position to let you know how he's doing throughout his stay there.
ReplyDeleteCertainly cause for being more at ease about this. :-)
I'm glad the visit went well and you're feeling better about things. Hoping for more good reports soon!
ReplyDeleteSo glad!!! School issues are really some of the most stressful things - we have to make these decisions that affect our children forever :-/
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really good. Nice that the teacher shows so much interest and that they get a chance to start acclimatising now already. I think he'll be well looked after next year! :)
