We have just returned

from a wonderful week and a bit long holiday. We drove down to Port Elizabeth (Via Bethulie in die Free state for a sleepover) to visit H's parents.

We spent a fantastic time with the grandparents and the kids adored all the time they had with them. The weather of course was nothing to talk about - it was countrywide one of the most miserable weeks this year. But we made the most of it and had a lot of fun.

We also took our new doggy brother R for his first trip with us and we think what must be his first visit to the sea. Boy did he have fun. And it went very well for a doggy on his first long distance rip.

I will write more later this week, but for now I am never going to catch up reading all your blog posts and I do hope all is well in your world.

Leaving you with some shots of beauty we encountered during this time.

  1. I can only imagine. ONCE I went to PE during winter (after I'd moved away.... which is a good 23 years ago) for my mother's bday (Friday), and I FROZE. No electric blankets or anything. Turns out we're better equipped in Jhb than over there!

Anyway, glad you had a nice time of family and connection DESPITE the cold, and glad you had safe trips down and back.

I love the one of the heart in C/ L's hand :)

  3. The first and the last ones are my favs.
I'm okay. Frozen but good. Last week was crazy at work but one day at a time we got through it. A once upon a time good friend of mine passed away yesterday...feeling a bit glum about that.

  9. Something Good used to be the really bad student joint with the R2 burger and R1.50 calamari roll when I was at Varsity there. I see from the photo that it is has moved...hopefully the food is better too. Glad you had a good trip to my old hang out.
