Makes my Monday and Magic marker Monday.

Playing along with Cheryl - what a great way to start the week.

And as I am featuring something crafty again, I am also playing along at 5 minutes for special needs.

Hunter was away this weekend, guiding a trail in the Pilansberg national park - they had to evacuate yesterday morning due to a fire in the park - a bit scary. They did have great elephant and rhino sightings though.

What makes my Monday is that I am really getting good at surviving these weekends on my own with the kiddos - in fact, I am doing more than surviving - we are actually having fun. One of the thing we did was the melting crayon craft I have seen on so many blogs. The Little Miss loved it, The Boys build towers with them but started drawing by late yesterday.

Ready to go in.

In the oven for about 8 minutes. Cool down in freezer.

The finished product - the smaller faerie cake tins certainly works better. Check the mega oil pastel at the bottom!

Featured artist - The Little Miss.

We tried it with oil pastels as well, and it works even better! The colors stay separate and it draws really easily.

  1. Hey, what a cool idea! I've never seen that before.
Stopped by from SITS...I too am the mum of fraternal twins...a boy and girl and a little princess. They are now 8,8 and 9 but I remember the younger ages soooo well.
All I can tell you is, it gets easier. :O)
    Lovely to meet you. x

  8. oh! Its been a long time since I've done that! I did it in my classroom one of my first years of teaching but its been a while. Might have to do it with the crayon stubs in my room and make something fun for my own kiddos!
