Dance me to the end of time.

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the children who are asking to be born
Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn
Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I'm gathered safely in
Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove
Dance me to the end of love
Leonard Cohen ( go see the great video on my link below and you will understand even more of what I am trying to say)

Hunter is a dancer - and a good one - he used to ballroom. He is also an excellent leader, not only as a dancer, but as a person in general. Me, on the other hand, being the 80's girl never learned to dance "properly". I sort of just shuffled my way through it where really required. I am also the most terrible control freak - yes, I admit it and I am trying hard to change it. Very hard. So for the last 12 years, we have been trying to dance together when the opportunity presented itself. Sometimes I have been really terrible and sometimes just ok. I would love to take ballroom lessons together - some day.

On Saturday night, life changed for us. We danced! We danced together and something just clicked. It just all came together. We had a great great time. Maybe it is because I had great dancing shoes on, maybe it is because I was relaxed amongst friends, or maybe I just learned to follow. Follow with my feet and I would like to think, with my heart and head too.

I am constantly amazed at how we keep growing together as a couple. At how our love seem to grow and grow after almost 10 year of marriage. How Hunter keeps looking at me with loving eyes and how my heart still leaps to my throat when I see him coming in at the door last night. And how I just might have learned how to set the control issues aside and work towards shared control and maybe, quite old fashionably following the leader, in this dance of life.

My love, dance me to the end of time.

My heart melted reading about your love for each other, this is so so special, not everyone gets this in first time round and then gets to have it for so many years...Its such a treat to read this - gives me hope for love and family.

Your hubby sounds amazing, hold on to him girl, there are lots of woman out there looking to dig their claws into our good men - knowing they are married with children...cant tell you how that frustrates the sHiT out of me!!

I cant langarm either, I'm a dance teacher and never got into that, I prefer freestyling..
My man has no rhythm..shame it's so sad...lol

  2. Dancing is so much fun! My dad is a great dancer and he taught me a few steps. PJ and I have never really danced - maybe we should start.

  3. Good for you!!! How romantic.

I'm a terrible dancer. I take that back...I'm a great dancer when i ge tto make it up. I'm terrible at learning steps. Joel and I bring out the worst in each other in dancing. We are both perfectionist who get very upset when we mess up AND he's a full foot tallet than I!!

  4. My husband cant dance to save his life. That, I dont mind. But the fact that he cant sing too makes me sad for him.

And your post reminds me of him. My Mr V is all you described. We've been married for 8 years. Its a great feeling being married to someone as thoughtful and selfless.

Enjoy your beautiful family. Thanks for finding me.

  5. Beautiful words my friend. Your love for your hubby is so touching.

DH had to teach me to dance and we love dancing, but only with each other. It will be a clever thing to go for dance lessons...I wish we had.

  9. Congrats! I could've written this too, except we haven't had the happy dancing moment yet after 15 years of marriage. I'm sure it will happen someday.

    This is a beautiful post!

  14. I love watching couples dance together...the longer they've been togther, the more they just understand each other's body language. It's such a sweet thing to see.
