The weekend that was.

Was kind of tough. As most  you know Hunter had been away on a trip meeting up with his old school friends and their dads in the Free state for some hunting. He returned on Sunday afternoon and yes, we will have plenty of biltong. I missed him so much this time around. Not only as the dad of my kids - the help etc. But as my best friend, my person to talk to, my love. I know in return he encourages me doing the things I love too - we both need these moments out.

Friday night we had a power failure and I got into bed early - a bed shared for this period in Hunter's absence with the princess.I have to admit she is a much quieter sleeping partner. LOL!

The kids were still not 100% while the cabin fever levels hit an all time high on Saturday morning. My mom had plans to go to the Irene dairy farm for the morning but made a wise change of plans and ended up spending the morning at Bester Bird farm. Closer to home and quicker to make the run back for afternoon naps. The kids loved it, me not so much. I hate the smell! And I hate something like Mountain Lions and Pelicans in such small enclosures. But anyhoo, it was a success and we might do it again. It did ensure a long naps for the boys and some quieter time for me.
The playground is fun too.
Some of us got into feeding the animals, while others just did not.

By Saturday late afternoon it was clear that Little man C was taking a turn for the worse and I canceled some plans we had for the morning and after a quick shopping trip too him to the doctor. The moment he did not eat Mac Donalds mommy knew we had trouble! Turns out that he developed a resistance to the antibiotics he was taking and he is on a new course now. My mom came over to help as he was so clingy and I managed to at least tidy up before Hunter returned.

Today was Woman's day in South Africa and after a slow start I got some time off. But more about that tomorrow.

I hope you all have a great week - mine is going to be seriously hectic.

Woman's Day, huh? Curious what that is.

My J has been having some odd bouts of not feeling well - has been a 'mystery illness' 2 or 3 times in the last few weeks that's lasted less than 24 hours..??

  9. Goodness! I forget all the time that you are in your winter, which would explain why you are in cold season as well.
Hope your little one feels better soon!
