Playing along on a Wednesday (as per usual) with Cheryl at Twinfatuation and Angie at 7 Clown Circus:
Once again digging out Way backs in my mom's albums. My mom recalls this as being 1972, my age 3 going on 4.
So this is how we went to church in South Africa in the 70's - you had to have a hat on! No woman was allowed in church without a hat, or that went for the majority of them.
Now if we move in a bit closer - check out the details: little white gloves, white handbag, bobby socks and shoes. Never mind the dress is shamefully short - I guess that was the kiddie version of the mini-dress.
The Little Miss would not be seen dead in a dress this short! She will demand trousers under it. And they say the world is getting more liberal? Well, I guess in the hat department at least.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In news from our little corner of the world - we are still having great fun with the In-laws. It is still freaking cold. And guess who is going to the paediatrician today, again, the 4th time is 6 weeks? Little man L off course who worked up a fever and a cough and spent the night sleeping on top of mommy. My lower back is killing me! May I please ask your prayers that this poor child can just have a tiny break from being constantly sick? Much appreciated!
You are such a little lady! And my, that dress WAS short. Good golly Miss Molly.
ReplyDeleteThose are such great memories!!
ReplyDeleteLove the 70s fashion show. How adorable. And your little one...hope everything will go well and the dr.s can help!!
ReplyDelete[my son, long long ago - like 30+ years - was always getting sick and ear aches...he finally outgrew it]
Praying here for your little one--
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm loving your 'vintage' pics! I sported a very similar look back in the day!
Blessings!
I hope your little guy feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteLove your photo! The high socks, the hat, and the little handbag more than made up for the shortness of the dress. :)
Absolutely stunning. A proper little lady... almost, if you weren't showing quite so much thigh:)
ReplyDeleteWill certainly pray for L. Poor little darling needs a break. So does his poor mummy.
Oh, that photo is SO of its time with the long white socks and the short, short dress!
