On Friday the Lil Miss celebrated her birthday at school. The rules of the school are that you are only allowed to bring one cupcake or piece of cake per child and a maximum of two sweets. By the end of last year this was totally blown up with party packs, little surprises, heaps of sweets etc, so I was asked to set the example for the year - one undecorated cupcake per child, some icing and decorations to decorate themselves and a maximum of two sweets. And this I did - the kids had so much fun decorating their own cupcakes and it is really more than enough sweet stuff for one day.
I made one special cupcake for her with candles to give to her teacher to eat and some others similar for the other teachers.
Queing to wash their hands.
Singing "Happy Birthday"
Seeing double while waiting patiently.
Decorating fun - just look at how hard they concentrate on getting it just right.
And our Two for Tuesdays: (over at Debi's)
The Lil Miss and Teacher Karen.
Me and my princess.
she is gorgeous. I agree some parents go overboard with the cake, party packs, etc.
