Last Friday was the anniversary of The Little Miss' Christening on the 3rd April 2005. We light her Christening candle after dinner every year on that night and talk about why she was Christened and what it means to belong to Jesus. We tell her about the community of Christ and being an active member.
Oh she was so tiny! And so cute.
My mom and A (whom she is named after)- the dress is the same one that I was Christened in way back in 1969! It is a beautiful satin and lace dress that my maternal gran had made for me (I was named after her ) And still in perfect condition. Maybe is 20 or 30 odd years time we can Christian a granddaughter in the same dress.
For some more blasts from the past, head over to Cheryl's and play along and if like me, and Angie at 7 Clown circus's Wordful Wednesday you have to "talk" about your photographs, head over there to have a look as well.
What a great memory!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was also born and christened in 1969! You have a wonderful memorial post here, I loved it.
ReplyDeleteMy W W is posted if you'd like to join me. But, the photos aren't of the best quality today [you'll be able to view them better by clicking on them to open in a new window]...I had to photograph them through the dining room window this time!!
Love the pics!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about family names (my kids are all named after someone in some way) and that you still had the dress to christen your daughter! That is really cool!
Happy When-sday!
ps... haven't been here in a while... love the new look!
Gorgeous pictures and what great traditions you have in your family!!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that she was Christened in your old gown. My mom hoped for that with mine, but it had yellowed too much and was not in good enough condition. Instead, she made new ones (one for a boy, one for a girl) and those will hopefully be used for all our kiddos and in the future.
ReplyDeleteHow incredibly gorgeous!!!! The gown my kids wore was my dad's and then mine and now theis. It is so special to me.
