Two for Two-sday - and you know you're in Africa when... part 6

Playing along with Debi and Deanna as per usual.

You know you're in Africa when your daughter's pre-school has a full time security guard! It is sad, but true - Abraham was appointed after we had a hi-jacking incident (read here all about it) at The Little Miss' school more than a year ago.

In the almost 15 months that Abraham has been a part of the school's staff he has become a much adored person by all especially the kids. He just has the personality that works with kids and moms. He actually thinks more of himself as a bodyguard than a security officer(he has all these pictures of the Obama kids and their bodyguards in his little wooden hut) and knows every kid, every parent and grandparent that comes regularly. And our kids, and us have definitely been safer thanks to him.

  3. HOW SAD...It breaks my heart to hear of stories like that. Abraham has kind eyes, and it is good to know he protects the children and the parents. My husband is a policeman here and it worries me daily. I NEVER watch the news, because it is all bad (well 90%). I understand not liking the crime...I just don't understand. But I guess that is why God is in charge and not me. I love the Africa posts...I feel like I am learning alot about your country.

  5. Sounds like a great person watching over your daughter! I think that kind of crime happens here in the US also. I *hope* not too often as I *hope* not too often there either. Stopping in from Two for Twosday!

  6. Sad that there is a need for that, but so wonderful that such a special person takes his job so personally!
