Sometimes, no, often they do amaze us ...

...in the most positive way possible. Yesterday was parent day at the Playball club at the Princess' school. Now I have zero ball sense and was really not a sport person at school. I did a bit, I was a team player, but I never excelled or made a great team. I expect my kids to try their best, and that's it. Try and be a team player and if there is anything more, it's a bonus.

Playball is a sports for life program that teach them basic sports skills for most ball sports and a general love for the game.  We thought it was a good general sports idea and only later this year did she start netball which she loves. (She now plays assistant goal she tells me). We as parents had to come, trainers on, and be ready to join in! Gosh we giggled at each other playing with min hockey sticks and all- in general a ton of fun. But the best of the day was realizing that my daughter loves sports and can actually hit a ball! Her eyes twinkled at the fun!

First up was hockey:Followed by soccer and baseball:

Her best of the three was the baseball where she hit all 3 her balls and had a home run!

Team talk with coach - love this shot!

I am so proud of our little girl for trying her best and enjoying it so much!
As you can see we are heading into summer - today will be a great 28 degrees - Spring is short lived on our side of the world.

  4. oh my word, too adorable. She's got the stances perfectly and she looks good doing any of those sports :)

I totally totally sucked at sports - I don't know if it was just a natural thing or lack of exposure as I did ballet from 4 and it sucked up all my time

  6. Can't believe how tall she has gotten!

Yup, i know the feeling.  I'm a bit ball senseless but both Polly and D have got it waxed.  Amazes me everytime I watch them at ball skills and Hockey respectively.

    Gorgeous pictures

  10. Wow! She looks like she is having the best time of her life! Love the photos!
I also try to encourage any participation in sports. My teen skipped it in primary school, and she struggled to get into any team when she was older... But as long as they are part of a team, and get in some exercise! Great fun!

  14. I'm always glad when baseball is played here in South Africa, thanks for sharing! Our school offers softball for girls, but it's not so great, plus it's not baseball. Maybe she will join a club!

  15. so cute.  I hope that Baby OL takes after Mr OL when it comes to ball sports.  I have zero eye hand co-ordination.  And was never any good at team sports...
