"Mommy", she said to me last night...

right after we read a book about kids going to grade 1 for the first time, "I am so excited, but I a just a little bit scared". I asked her why and she said: "What if I do not like the teacher or she does not like me? What if I do not have any of my friends in the class with me?" But I know it's much more. It's the fear of the unexpected, of the unknown, of the newness of it all. Of growing up.
My answer was simple: "Don't worry my love, mom feels exactly the same. " Tonight we will mark the huge bag of stationary and all the bits of clothes. Tomorrow I will make a last attempt to get the ever out of stock school school scrunchies and she will spent her last pre-school day quietly at home with Lucy.

Om Wednesday we will be in grade 1. Excited, but a little bit scared.

    Ag she will be SOOO fine! Once she gets there and meets her teacher and finds her desk etc she'll soon forget her worries!

    From what I've read of your Princess I am sure she is going to take her first day in her stride and be just fine.

    You gave her good advice. Although mine is starting Grade 3, the first day of school of every year, is scary. New things, new everything.

    I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I still remember my first day and how daunting it was. I hope the day comes and goes and only leave good memories for her xoxox

    WHat a sweet girl! I obviously saw the "First day" post to know all went well. My Sarah is such a mix of excitement and anxiety on these things. She's usually good to go as long as she's got Jacob - but I wonder how she'll be next year if they aren't in the same class anymore...
