A Lego party

On Saturday afternoon the kids attended a Lego party - great theme for a 6 year old boy. And of course, most guests bought Lego as a gift - he literally had a Lego feast. 
Great cake - but once again I noticed that the kids do not eat the sugarpaste coating.
The table was so cute and those little coloured squares on the right - coconut ice. The party packs were primary colour bags with each kid's name in "Lego" font.

 When we got home the Princess asked me to take down my Lego - these are mine from my childhood. All 3 of them had much fun for the evening and Sunday. Just goes to show - after 20 years still  in perfect condition. Got to hand it to Lego - super durable and really timeless.

    It seems these Lego parties is popping up everywhere - seems like a trend.
    And the kids have fun at them which is cool.

    No this is an amazing theme!  And you can do so much with it.  I must be honest that at my 8 year old's recent birthday party the kids actually ate the sugar paste icing along with the cake, I did put quite a bit if normal butter cream icing over the cake before I put the sugar paste so maybe that made it taste better?  I personally am not all that fond of the taste of sugar paste icing.

    Looks like a stunning party...and an amazing theme.  My grandchildren are now playing with the Lego I grew up with...it really does not age;-)

    How cute - such a divine theme.

    Strangely enough my girls LOVE the sugarpaste, they eat all the leftovers after I've done a cake.  however I do agree that using a whack of buttercream underneath it definately makes it easier to eat.

    A beautiful way to round out the story with your kids wanting to play with your chidhood Lego.
    My partner kept his from 30 years ago and my kids play with it still (supplemented of course with  the latest Star Wars Lego sets :0) ).Cheers
