Why I'm Thankful..

Playing along with Debi today.....

A picture tells a thousand words! My 5 babies.

I am so glad that we took the puppies along for the photo shoot - they were so good and patient.

Watch out next week for more of these stunning pictures.

Debi's Baby Picture Sundays - babies can sleep anywhere.

Playing along with Debi today.....

I am a great believer in letting babies sleep in their own beds at home - I find it makes for a better general sleep routine. Off course, there are excpetions (of which the car on a Sunday afternoon is a family - hmm, parents favorite).

The Lil' miss - at about 9 months of age we went on a short hiking trail in Port Elizabeth - she fell asleep on Hunter's back and continued under the suntent on the beach.

Little Man C slept through an entire birthday party also at about 9 months old - from the carseat to the stroller, non stop!

Little Man L had enough of the zoo in April this year and fell asleep on my back.

Debi's Baby Picture Sundays - feeding frenzy

When I saw Debi's theme for this week, I knew I had the perfect pictures- taken a while ago but not published yet (although, technically they are not babies any more, are they?)

I am sure you have also seen this somewhere, but I gave it a shot:

Step 1: Thread spaghetti through vienna sausages. (or get the older kids to do it)

Step 2: Boil.

Step 3: Add veggies if you are a veggy obsessed mom like me.

Step 4: Serve.

They loved it! We call it octopus in their sea-garden. Served up with ketchup.

Debi's Baby Picture Sundays - Gimme some sugar.

I do not have a lot of time today, but when I saw Debi's theme this week, I knew I had one good one to share at least.

Having a cupcake on Daddy's birhtday this year. Just look at that face!

Debi's Baby Picture Sundays - the heat is on!

I am so glad that I saw Debi's theme early this week, so I can play along. In general I do not get time to blog over the weekend so I pre-post these on Fridays.

As you might, or might not know - we are currently in mid winter and yikes, today is freezing (well in African terms) - with a zero C minimum and 13 C maximum it is about as cold as it gets here. So great to take out that summer pics - the heat (was) on! At least, come December we willbe basking in summer and you guys will be much colder than what we are right now!

January this year - the little blow up pool and the kiddos having great fun. Last year the boys were still so tiny, we only tried it once, this summer they loved it.

The Little Miss - about 8 months old in one of her favorite places up to today, on daddy's shoulders, loving the summer sun.

Debi's Baby Picture Sundays - all for Daddy.

I am so glad that I saw Debi's theme early this week, so I can play along. In general I do not get time to blog over the weekend so I pre-post these on Fridays.

Off course we are celebrating Fathers day on Sunday. I will always remember Hunter with his babies sleeping on his chest. He loves it, they (in general) love it. He even brought up the puppies in this way - and if I had a bit more sleep last night I would have remembered to bring the old photo's of that along to scan and also show.

But as to the human babies:

Dad and his little Princess having an early morning nap - she was about 3 months old at the time.

Dad and his boys, 11 days old, taking a snooze on the couch. Little man L on the left, C (still a bit jaundiced)) on the right.

Debi's Baby Picture Sundays - Silly smiles

I am so glad that I saw Debi's theme early this week, so I could play along even though I am away from all things technological this weekend.

So here's my 3 Silly smilers:

The Little Miss at about 8 months old - I chose this picture because it is one of my favorites of her.

Little man L being really silly (he was and is such a serious baby/boy)

Little man C - always a charming little man.

Why don't you play along and pop over to Debi's and play as well?

Debi's Baby Picture Sundays

I don't often get to participate in this one just because our weekends are really crazy, but I am glad to be able to join today on the theme of Mothers day. Why don't you join in too?

Here's me, my mom and The Little Miss on Mothersday 2007. She was 2 years old and I was about 4 months pregnant with the twins.

My mom is going in to hospital this afternoon for her long awaited knee replacement and will be operated on tomorrow. Your prayers will be much appreciated.

Debi's Baby Picture Sundays

I always want to participate in this one, but because it is over the weekend, I just don't seem to make it very often. So if you want to show of some baby pictures, look out for a new theme from Debi every week.

The theme for this week is flower power. This was taken back in October 2006, The Little Miss was about 21 months old and we were in Port Elizabeth for my FIL 60th birthday. PE is known as "The Windy City" - no guesses why! Out towards the horizon you can just see the sea. This was taken at Homeleigh farm, a little petting zoo.

Baby picture Sunday

Although I have already published this photo on my blog, I just have to play along with Debi for Baby Picture Sunday.

This is me and my mom on my official one year photographs (1969). The only resemblance I can see to any of my kids is along the eyes with my little Princess. And the curly hair - her and little man L. Are those really my kids? Oh and my mom was so pretty, don't you think?

Sleeping baby pictures version 2

And here is the promised sleeping baby picture of The Little Miss - about 4 days old and having her tan. She was the worst jaundice case of all 3 my babies and had to stay behind in hospital after my release for another 2 days. A bit ironic that my twins went home with mommy but their sister (born at 38 weeks and 3,45 kg) had a longer hospital stay.

Sleeping babes

So Debi has a great idea - sharing sleeping baby pictures. Here are The Boys - all of 3 days old having the snooze of their lives under the cozy lights - both with jaundice.
I just had to include this picture of little L.
