Friday 1 April 2010

Today as we celebrate the holiest of weekends and remember Christ on the cross, may your heart celebrate the greatness of the Lord . May the love of Jesus for you in person lighten this dark (and rainy in our case) Friday and may the resurrection on Sunday explode in your heart.
May you have a blessed Easter.

For my last cross I chose the one I see the most. It is an Ethiopean silver  coptic cross - has been on all my sets of car keys from December 1989.

Old friends - or as old as they get when you are all of 5 years old.

Playing along today with Cheryl and Angie:

Bastian and the Lil Miss - about 1 month and 6 weeks old. Dehlia and I did our post natal classes together with the two kiddos and my, have the years flown past. Our second "batch" is also close - her Lisa is just 3 months younger than The Boys.

B and the Lil Miss at his 5th Birthday party on Friday.

For the first time ever I have a little gem to share for "Say what" Wednesday at Missy's: (although this was Hunters' -not one of the kids')

While The Lil Miss and I went to her party and shopping on Saturday Hunter and The Boys spent some quality manly time together - playing cars and riding bikes etc. I left lunch to his discretion.

Me: Honey are they napping?
H: Yes, and they ate so well - finished all their food. (knowing that was the second thing I was going to ask)
Me: What did you have for lunch?
H: We had some lamb chops.
Me: Nice, and? (me waiting to hear something like bread or potatoes)
H: Pork sausages - they were yummy.
Me: Great and? (now waiting for some fruit or veggies)
H: Srambled eggs!
Me: What, only protein?
H: Yeah, we had a real mans lunch!

Friday photo finish fiesta - Veels geluk Oupa

Pop over to Carrie's right now - TGIF!

It's Oupa's (Grandpa's) birthday today and we all sang Happy Birthday this morning over the phone. We hope you have a great year and we see you more. We love you to bits!

They share names.

And they share the same hands and feet.

And they share such a special bond - his first grandchild and the little girl he never had himself.

Friday photo finish fiesta - two sets of twins

Pop over to Carrie's right now - TGIF!

As some of you are aware my BFF Hesti and I share an amazing co-incidence - not only do we have a first born daughter, but she is followed by a set of twin boys at almost exactly the same spacing. Off course, this was not planned. But how great is that?

Her boys were born on 9/10/2001 - the day before the attack on the twin towers. I only heard the news the morning of 9/11 when her hubby started texting us all. Just to be followed by the images that flew all over the world. I was newly married and Hunter worked late that night. I could not see Hesti or the twins as she was still in High care and they in the NICU where they remained for weeks.

Last Saturday was their 8th birthday party and yes, it all of a sudden feels like they are so big! So grown up. Each with their own interests although they still look remarkably identical.

The two mommies with the kiddos.

The boys loved these "cars" and played on them quite a bit.

And off course, as if one party is not enough, we had another the afternoon - The Lil Miss' friend Tyra and her brother Chad had their party. So sad, they are emigrating to Australia at the end of October - we will miss them.

The cupcakes were so stunning and delicious. A hit with young and old.

The fruit sosaties were a hit as well. (sosaties are in general what is referred to as an espetada)

So funny - last year you could not get a hat on his head whatsoever.

This year he is refusing! Keeping us on our toes it seems.

Fun on the bounce house.

The 5 friends.

Our tired and over sugared kids slept until 7:30 Sunday morning - a rare occasion.

Friday photo finish fiesta - My little Ponies party

The best day to visit Carrie is on Friday!

So the kiddo's good friend Jeannedre had her 5th birthday party on Saturday. The tables were beautiful, the fun a plenty. So here's the pics:(and for those who always want to know - The Boys in Keedo, The Little Miss in Naartjie)

The cake - made by the granny.

The party packs were buckets topped with straw.

The Little Miss takes her turn with the pinata.

Off course he will be on a car.

For some reason he loves to sit on this tree stump.

Her turn to pose with the famous pony.

Friday photo finish fiesta - unpublished holiday pictures

The best day to visit Carrie is on Friday!

I did not take any photographs this week - I know, Ms-always -has- a -camera- in hand! Looking for something for today's post reminds me that I never actually showed you much from our last summer holiday, which was off course in December, us being in the Southern Hemisphere.
So, some pics of the kids on the farm - and gosh, has the boys grown in the last 6 months (not to speak of their hair)

I am also honoured to be guest posting at the charming Debi's today - so hop over and have a read about Global friendships.
