Being a mom

Nothing in the world can prepare you for motherhood
No matter how many puppies you mothered before,
how many kids you were babysitter to
how many books you read in all those months waiting for the bundle to make it's appearance.

Nothing can prepare you for the absolute sleep deprivation
for the doubt you have in your own decisions
for the fear of something happening to your child
and for those endless nights with a feverish kid.

Nothing can prepare you for those 2 year old tantrums
for those hurtful words - "I hate you"
for the total disregard to mommy's time and things
for the emotional toll of keeping it all together.

Nothing can prepare you for the love you feel for them
for the complete and utter devotion you give to them
for the sacrifice of time and money
for the rich returns when they say: " I love you mommy"

I hope you all had a blessed Mothers day and were spoiled by your families - I certainly was .We spent the day with my mom and our friend Mariki who, due to an accident somewhere on the highway, could not make it in time to her own son and his family. I got the two pairs of stunning PJ's = just what I asked for - the one set features Tinkerbell - no guesses who chose that one. I love it!

Having a great Mothers day certainly makes my Monday.
