So it is all so very real....

...this grade 1 thing. We went to the open day of the school today, along with so many of the Princess' friends from grade R at the same school's pre-school. As I listened to the school choir, and all that is presented, I felt this heaviness in my heart - this very real moment. In just 5 and a bit months our baby will be in big school.

After an extensive tour and seeing the whole school, the event was over and I took the Princess and friend N to a local eatery for a milkshake - only to bump into several other moms with their kidlets.

Now, we are blissfully home with friend N- I did a bit of work and then tried my hand at face painting. Now I am going to rest and relax a bit - bonus afternoon.

    I'm in the same space. Absolutely freaked out that the kid I still think of as a baby, is starting big school soon!

    They do grow so quickly. I felt quite sad when my son started grade 1. End of an era an all that. No more freedom as he knew it. Homework, routines and and and. But, he loved it and we got through it. Glad you are happy with your school choice. This does make all the difference.x

    I look at Leane...who is turning 4 in August, and I can't believe how quickly the little ones are growing...WAY TOO FAST!  I want to keep them small.

    I was chatting to a friend of mine (who is mommy to a two year old girl) and we were talking about how we still feel 16 mentally but clearly we're not 16 anymore and she said to me "if you think the time between school and now flew you should feel what the last 2 years of my life felt like."  Time seems to go even faster once you have little ones that are growing up.

    I so can remember the feeling of when my first one needed to go to Grade 1 - so sad but so happy as well.
