Five for Friday edition 14

Gosh, Friday already . The week has flown by in the wink of an eye.

1. We have completed our Checkers Little Shop collection yesterday with the help of a very friendly cashier at the till who squeezed a few packets and declared she had the two items we needed. Lo and behold she was spot on! Now I will help out whoever I can. Interesting enough grown ups seem to love them a lot. The office is all abuzz with swapping out. And more than any other item the kids are very careful not to get them stolen at school.

2. I am one book ahead of my 36 books reading challenge on Goodreads. I have no idea when last I was actually on target or lo and behold over at this time of the year. It's making me very happy right now. I am reading this wonderful surprise of a book right now:

3. I have found so much joy in drawings again with the doodle challenge that I fined myself just drawing now - doodling like I used to. It's like I have re discovered a bit of myself. This is day 13 - 26 of July

4. On Saturday afternoon I rounded up the boys and we did the big boys bedroom clean out. 4 Big black bags for charity full of toys. It makes such a huge difference. And they did so well in helping and being patient about it. We were all exhausted after - but it was a great very needed bit of de cluttering.

5. The good people at Lifebuoy has sent us a little hamper to try out with their new Moisture Plus soap. Their well known germ killing soap with the added bonus of moisturisation - so important here in the winter. They also have great advice to stay healthy  - remember to : Not get too close and avoid contact with sick people, to stay hydrated, get enough sleep, cough wisely, nourish your skin and wash your hands frequently with germ fighting soap.

With that - I hope you stay healthy and warm this cold weekend. What is your 5 for Friday?

  2. We have a few of the Checkers little shop goodies but the one which my children are mad about is the PnP animals which I'm also very impressed with

    1. Our school tuck shop sold very similar animal cards last year - We have the lot. So I think that is why mine are not so into them. Also we do not have a Pick n Pay on my route between work and home so I do not get there so often.

  3. Love your doodles!
I need to do a room clean-up as well, but Little Miss is very attached to everything and she usually does not want to part with anything.

  4. I love that you're so into the doodling :) So glad this was a good catalyst for you!

We are not collecting at Checkers at all. Checkers is only my stop after church for French Bread :) and vetkoek now and again. But PNP is my main shop. But we received 5 packets - 4 breads and a shampoo, I think it was. And that was us looking for stuff to buy :)

  7. Wow your drawings are excellent! That book looks amazing, right up my alley - I must really find, or rather make time to read more.
Haha those minis! Well done on completing your collection :) I heard everyone's upset, because they don't have stock anymore...

    1. Thanks so much - I am loving the book. I think the response has been a bit overwhelming. Where with the cards and birds and stickeez some people wanted and others not everyone seems to love the minis - even if they are not collecting them they are keeping what they have so less are circulating. (Especially grown ups - you should see the people in my office)

  8. Haha...our office was crazy about these as well. I think it is because they are so cute. We are diligently collecting the Pnp cards because we have the sound thing where you swipe the card and hear the animal sound. ( Even if PnP is a rival retailer for Hubby)

  10. Yay for meeting your reading target .

I have both checkers and pnp close by but my daughter is too young to appreciate these things so no pressure. Plus the checkers things are so tiny and not geared towards under 3s
