Prayer warriors needed!

Our great long weekend with family has been overshadowed by a tragedy. Our dear friend Stefaan whom you have seen and heard me talk about a lot, is in the ICU at present, fighting to regain as much as possible from a huge back injury. He fell with his paraglider during a competition on Friday and was badly injured. The two little girls were visiting us at the time. He's been operated on Saturday and due to a turned disk and torn nerve sleeves he has injured nerves. At present his one leg has lost some feeling and he has lost bladder control. The doctors believe he will walk again, but that it would be an approximate 5 month process.

The circumstances is anything but ideal - his wife Ilse is 34 weeks pregnant with their third child who is a high risk (1:50) Downs syndrome baby. We have all been preparing for it - they by reading all they can and us by getting the older two girls used to being with us to give them the time to spend with the new baby. Thank goodness we have been in the process because they are really happy to be with us and Emma even slept over at our lace on Friday night. But it means that for the next 5 months she will be caring on her own for a 5 year old, 2 year old and possible new born Downs baby. Her mom will be arriving for the birth, but can not stay indefinitely. Luckily they have lots of friends.

So if we can please call you all up to prayer for a family in South Africa, fighting to keep going under very difficult circumstances. I would really appreciate it. Please also pray that we can support whom we call our non-blood brother and sister. Love and light to you all!

  7. Oh Cat, praying like crazy....your friend and his family will pull through...and will be stronger for their survival, but what a time they are enduring.

Praying for you, as their friend to continue to be a source of strength and encouragement for them.

Peace to you, and to Stefaan's family.

  12. My heart breaks to hear of this and I can say I am praying. I am praying with all my might and there can be a miracle I believe it. I know it. I have seen it. God is alive and living and his good and perfect will is to care for his children with all he can.
