First day at school.

On Thursday last week the Boys unexpectedly had their first day at school. Lucy had to urgently return home for urgent matters and I phoned the school (that the Princess attends and they have been admitted to next year), to ask if they could assist. They agreed as it would be a good preparation for next year - so unofficially, at the end of the school year, they had their first two days at school.

Funny how you get to know your kids, as it went exactly like I predicted it would. Little man C threw a huge crying fit when I left, and then had a ball the rest of the day on Thursday. Ditto for Friday when dad dropped them off. Little man L had a small cry on Thursday, but stayed a bit teary through the day - they called in the Princess to be with him, and he was fine. On Friday, he cried with the drop off, but was ok during the rest of the day, even started to interact with some of the other kids.

I am really glad we got this "practice run". I am so 100% sure that they are ready and that all will go well next year.

  1. you are a brave woman. I suppose it helps that A goes there too.

We tried to leave the kids at church but big disaster. Actually let me go blog that.

  2. I agree, how convenient that they had a little tast of what is to come. At least you now know they are ready and prepared. No anxiousness next year!

Am sure your princess and mine must have a very similar wardrobe - us both being Woolies babes - everytime I see her in something Polly has the same!

  6. How convenient even if it was a bit of a bother at the time considering your helper had to take leave.. Glad everything turned out okay and that Princess was there to help out!

  7. This week is "find my son a school" week for me! How old are the boys? 3 i think? Felix is 2 but I think he needs to get the experience in before he is so frightened of other people that he'll never go!

  15. Wow! I have to say that's amazing that the school helped you out and let you bring hte boys for a couple of days. I can't imagine any school over here that would allow that.

Glad it all went generally well and they got a 'taste' of what's to come next year!
