Christmas is a time for giving...

And that's why I am so very excited to be giving one lucky reader a hamper of one of my favorite things in the world- books! Every year in October Exclusive Books launch their wish list of books for the year. This list is by far the easiest and best way to choose that perfect book gift for everyone on your Christmas gift list. From the kids,to granny,  to the men in our lives - there is really something for all. Books about sport, travel, current affairs and my personal poison of choice, fiction. Of course it features a large selection of the most gifted books the last few years, cook books. So if you have not bought the perfect present for every member of the family, go have a look at your nearest Exclusive books.

Personally I would love all the books on the list, but I have already read one, Kobra by Deon Meyer. A stunning read in true Meyer tradition featuring Bennie Griessels everybody's favorite alcoholic detective and my personal favorite Meyer character- Mbali Khaleni the no nonsense clever female member of the Hawks. There is one book i would really love to experiment with over December - Reuben Riffel's newest book "Braai- Reuben on fire" I am very excited to offer a hamper of 7 of the most popular books on this years's list including this book worth over R 2000,00. What a lovely extra surprise gift for Christmas!

Here's how to enter:
1. Leave me a comment and tell me what was your favorite read this year. Mine was " Me before you" by Jojo Moyes.
2. For another entry like Exclusive Books facebook page and share this blogpost on Facebook and tell me in a comment that you did this.

I guess we will always remember 5 December

as the day our icon died. As the world mourns the loss of a great man, I would rather dwell on the happy and on sharing what I did not get around to do in this very hectic time of the year. In the past few weeks....

We have been having hectic storms and hail  - really exceptional.

Mr L had his carols by candlelight with a  great storm brewing - it was special and a whole lot of food was collected for an under privileged nursery school.

The Princess had her prize giving and we were very proud of her achievements.

Mr C and Mr L took part in their first Judo tournament and Mr C surprised us by winning a silver while Mr L did well. Mr C also graded to his half yellow belt this week. We are very proud parents indeed. Photos of the two brothers going head to head

There was also the stables prize giving where not only the kids but also me got an award of some sort.

In between all this there were the last batch of birthday parties, class parties etc. And I turned another year older. The family had a good night out with pizza at Toni's and I spent a part of the afternoon with the kids (and A's BFF sister)

I also hosted the bookclub Christmas evening the evening before my birthday which was perfect as I celebrated with some girlfriends - we had great fun.

I did some washi taping - some very kindly sent as a much appreciated gift by Pamela
The Christmas tree was decorated with Rod Steward signing in the background and loud renditions of Christmas carols by the kids.

And with that I think a good general catch up was achieved.
